I recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Sustainable Urban Planning from George Washington University and focused on transportation planning, equity, and climate mitigation in my studies.
While in graduate school I interned with the Climate Reality Project's Science and Solutions team and with the Crystal City Business Improvement District, now the National Landing Business Improvement District. I held contracts with the Climate Reality Project's Science and Solutions team after interning with them and with a professor's company, Aberigua, through which I worked on a variety of projects with the Asian Development Bank, including building a suite of policies for a low-carbon city project in China.
I believe that urban planning can be the avenue through which we create a more equitable and sustainable world. I also believe that as a planner, I must reckon with the legacies of past planners. We can learn from their mistakes and their successes, and use those lessons to think beyond the status quo and to tackle the challenges of today with innovative problem solving.
